Take a stand against the recession--literally! Stand in front of audiences and speak to them about how you can help them solve their problems or reduce their anxieties or whatever you can do. Isn't it better to focus on pursuing one affirmative action than just wring your hands and worry about what will happen to you?
Too many business people say speaking or presenting is too hard, it takes too much time and/or they don't like to do it. I challenge you to tell me that losing your job, or closing down your company is less painful than making the effort to get in front of audience.
Here are 5 reasons why you should speak to of audiences:
5. Your personal presence makes a more memorable impression than any kind of marketing. You speak, you make eye contact, you shake hands, you answer questions. Your direct mail, or print ads, or web communications do not do those things.
4. You can shape your message precisely. "We are in business to serve you, and we will be here next week, next month and next year"
3. You can describe the problems you solve through your products or services. It doesn't take long to speak from your heart and your head.
2. Your public presence gives you a competitive advantage. Which company will a prospect go to--the one who is out there speaking or the one who is hiding in the gloom of bad times?
1. The number one reason to speak is to build confidence. The lack of confidence drives recessions deeper. People who worry about your company don't buy from you. Show them they have nothing to worry about. Give them confidence and when they do business with you, you will have confidence that you can make it.
I have a free pdf for anyone who wants to learn HOW to get these speaking opportunities. Just send an email to susan@susantrivers.com with "I want to speak" in the subject line and I'll send it to you.
